{"id":316,"date":"2012-07-15T22:11:24","date_gmt":"2012-07-16T05:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sarahbullion.com\/site\/?p=316"},"modified":"2014-07-11T00:20:25","modified_gmt":"2014-07-11T07:20:25","slug":"choosing-loneliness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sarahbullion.com\/site\/choosing-loneliness\/","title":{"rendered":"choosing loneliness"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>My childhood was<\/li>\n<li>Pocked<\/li>\n<li>By<\/li>\n<li>Loneliness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>At five<\/li>\n<li>I quickly learned I was<\/li>\n<li>Alone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Soon thereafter I learned<\/li>\n<li>Loneliness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Not long after that I learned<\/li>\n<li>Sacrifice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-275\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.sarahbullion.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/woodenman.jpg?resize=100%2C66&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"woodenman\" width=\"100\" height=\"66\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I learned that to<br \/>\nBelong<br \/>\nRequired<br \/>\nSacrifice<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes of my body<br \/>\nAlmost always of my peace and<br \/>\nMy honesty<\/p>\n<p>I am among the<br \/>\nSurvivalist Chameleons<\/p>\n<p>I can blend, meld, conform<br \/>\nI can change<br \/>\nMy speech, my stance, my sense of humor<br \/>\nWho do you want me to be?<br \/>\nI\u2019ll be her<br \/>\nJust don\u2019t leave me to the wolves<\/p>\n<p>And I learned that sometimes<br \/>\nLoneliness<br \/>\nWas<br \/>\nPreferable<\/p>\n<p>To the<br \/>\nOnly choices of<br \/>\nCompanionship<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the sacrifice was too great<br \/>\nToo injurious<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the<br \/>\nDesolate landscape of<br \/>\nLoneliness<br \/>\nCould also be construed as<\/p>\n<p>Safety<\/p>\n<p>And, so, loneliness and safety<br \/>\nMarry to create a cocoon of<br \/>\nReassurance<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it is how<br \/>\nHeroin addicts correlate the<br \/>\nPain of the<br \/>\nNeedle breaking the skin with the<br \/>\nWarm<br \/>\nRelief to follow<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My childhood was Pocked By Loneliness At five I quickly learned I was Alone Soon thereafter I learned Loneliness Not long after that I learned Sacrifice I learned that to Belong Required Sacrifice Sometimes of my body Almost always of my peace and My honesty I am among the Survivalist Chameleons I can blend, meld, &hellip;
